Betapitch is a startup competition organized by betahaus | Berlin and gives aspiring startup teams a headstart in a place they can call home (read: the co-working space where the betapitch is organized). Over the course of the year betahaus co-organizes betapitch events all over Europe, with the winners of all local betapitch events to pitch against eachother at the betapitch | global competition on August 30, 2014.
8 startups from all over Denmark and abroad competed against each other. Criteria were technology, concrete user benefit, business model, team and presentation skills. Lars Buch (startup bootcamp), Peter Thomson (SEEDRS), Thomas Madsen-Mygdal, Luise Gruner (Axel Springer Plug n Play Accelerator) and our very own Yves Schulz took a seat in the jury booth.
EasySize won 6 months desk space at republikken (and thus a place in the middle of Copenhagen’s startup community). As the first place winner, EasySize will get to go to betapitch | global. CopyMeThat got a $1000 credit to spend on elance.com, Timebird received free tickets to the Pirate Summit, Explainer Rocket will create a video about Gingr’s startup idea and Veloyo got the Microsoft Biz Park Plus program. Read more about the contestants and their startup ideas on the betapitch blog.
Before we forget: betapitch Vienna will take place August 14. Applications are open, so make sure you register your pitch slot.
