“The event on Saturday exceeded our expectation!” Shani Tsadik, the Young Founders Ambassador of Vienna, was excited to welcome 32 attendees to an event concept new to Vienna. “The audience was extraordinary, we had business people, expert of all kinds, startups and even an investor witch connections to investors from Silicon Valley! People didn’t stop thanking me for organizing it.”
Young Founders aims to connect cofounders-to-be and generally help form startup alliances. And they serve a market: “People came from Zurich and from Graz.” Elance-oDesk gladly sponsored the young entrepreneurs with pizza and drinks.
Tsadik on Young Founders’ allure: “I think one of the major success factors is our International crowd. Every participant brings his or her own network from their home country to the table.” Young Founders also has an interesting networking technique. Each participant got a tag with his name and number. On a wall the numbers of each participant and their business card were put in see-through ‘pockets’. “So if you talk to somebody and forget their name you could just check the business card connected to their number!”
Daniel Tran (AustrianStartups) attended the event and tells us: “The event Saturday was interesting – over 30 participants on a Saturday evening! And every single one of the participants pitched. The participants were predominantly economists and field experts. I missed some coders, which is maybe something to improve on for the next event.”
